Kana Okada

Kana is a fully qualified, insured acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner. She studied Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at the University of Westminster, where she gained  BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees. Kana offers gentle Japanese style acupuncture, moxibustion, and classical Chinese Herbal Medicine - Jing Fang. Her approach to treatment is holistic - seeing the person as an individual and treating him/her as a whole. The focus of the treatment is to treat the root causes of the health issues as well as manifesting symptoms on the surface. She often combines acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine or Shiatsu, as well as dietary and lifestyle advice, to achieve the best outcome. She  encourages the patients to actively participate in their treatment and help them to increase body awareness and support their healing process. The special areas of interest are women's health and fertility issues.

He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Middlesex University of the UK (2008), a Shiatsu diploma, and is a member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (ATCM). To encourage openness and reestablish free flow of energy in the body, he has developed a gentle but effective approach, using a combination of Japanese-style acupuncture and Oriental bodywork, including Shiatsu and Resilo therapy. His main focus of treatment is freeing up of tension and stuck energy in the body so that it can be used to naturally address various symptoms and conditions.

ACUPUNCTURE
CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE
COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is an ancient medicine, one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing form which is originating in China about 3,500 years ago. Acupuncture is a way of treating the imbalance of energy called Qi by inserting the needles in the body. Qi is the substance that nourishes our bodies and provides us with energy. Qi can get depleted, stagnated and blocked in the body, which manifests as pain or form of illness. Acupuncture can smooth the flow of Qi and restore the balance in the body and promote wellbeing. Chinese Herbal Medicine works internally in a deeper level, and compliments the acupuncture treatment to speed up the healing process. Acupuncture sessions can be combined with Chinese herbal formula, moxibustion, cupping, or bodywork to achieve the best outcome.

Acupuncture can focus on areas and points on the face and help to improve elasticity and signs of aging, it can also address underlying issues that can be contributing to areas of concern on the face.  It is a natural, safe and viable alternative to more invasive procedures without the risks or side effects.

Facial Acupuncture can increase collagen production which helps to smooth out wrinkles and firm the skin. Bags under the eyes, drooping eyelids and sagging skin on the face and neck can be significantly reduced. The treatment stimulates the local circulation of blood and lymph, which improves muscle tone, encourages tightening of the pores and brightens the eyes.

A course of 5 to 10 treatments is recommended. Most patients notice a difference after one or two treatments, however, the effects become most noticeable and lasting after 5 treatments. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance treatments of once a month can prolong the results.
